After I flat-ironed my hair recently I decided to give it a try on Shelbs. Here's the result:

Shelby spent three hours at daycare this past Wed morning. Three hours! By yesterday afternoon she was watery-eyed and snotty.

It's Gravy

While we were waiting for K and C to return the rental car, Shelb and I watched cars drive past. In an effort to teach her some colors once I again, as each car passed I would tell her what color it was - white, red, blue, grey, etc. When I thought it should be her turn I asked her, "What color is that one?" She replied, "That's a gravy one." :D

What on earth was I doing up so early this morning? I had to force myself to go sleep at midnight last night, a Saturday night! So not fair. But, it had to be done because I had an engagement sunrise shoot at the beach scheduled. Sid stayed by my mom's last night but Shelby refused to let me leave without her. "I wanna go wit you," she kept telling me. So home she came and to the beach we went. After the shoot I let her play in the water a little...in her pajamas. I took her to the stroller to change her and after she took off her diaper she took off to the water. THAT was a sight to see, lol! Anway, here is proof that I really did get up when I should have been sleeping!




I didn't have a towel for her, only a blanket that I brought to keep her warm before the sun came out since she was sleeping. After she bathed in the ocean I wrapped her in the blanket. She had a tough time walking in it though and fell over.

A couple of weeks ago at a friend's house after church. She'll be three on Sept. 18!!

Shelby had a plastic duck on her head and when it rolled off she said, "I felled it off!"

I asked Shelby to do something for me and she said, "Sure."

She is so proud of herself

Shelby wanted a granola bar but it was in the pantry on a shelf that she couldn't reach. She asked me to get it for her but I told her to use her stool. She pulled and pushed it until it got where she needed it, and then she climbed up and got the granola bar. She was so happy - she was too cute. For the rest of the day she used any excuse to use her stool to climb to reach something - the box of macaroni, a cup, whatever.

Her Locks and Lost Chocolate

Shelby's hair is getting long. When I'm washing it I tell her, "Flash your locks!" and she shakes her head from side to side splashing water everywhere. If I had a water-proof camera I would have a picture of it by now. As for the lost chocolate, I have a bunch of lip balm/gloss in my purse that Shelby loves to after. Since she killed her Burt's Bees that I gave her whenever she needs some she says, "My lip balm is dead?" and she proceeds to go towards my purse to get mine. I let her have some but it can't stop there, can it? She knows about the minty lip gloss I bought at Bath and Body Works because she helped me choose the flavors. Anywho, after the Burt's Bees it's time for the "minty" of which there are two: peppermint and chocolate mint. Shelby needs both. Next goes on the peppermint and lastly the chocolate mint. Last night, after the usual ritual of three layers of lip treatment Shelby went off about her business, played a bit, climbed onto the facing couch smooshing her face (and lips) in the seat (it's a good thing it's leather). She came back a few minutes later declaring that her "chocolate fell off!"
